Dog of the Year

Qualifications for Dog of the Year Rocky Mountain Sporting Dog Club

The club will award “Dog of the Year” in both flushing and pointing categories. Points will be awarded for placements in open singles, doubles and Novice in each category. Points will be awarded on the following basis:
1st Place  – 3 points
2nd Place – 2 points
3rd Place  – 1 point
Club Championship 
1st Place  – 6 points
2nd Place – 4 points
3rd Place  – 2 points
The dog with the most points in each category at the end of the trial season will be declared Dog of the Year.  

Also, there will be an award for Youth Handler of the Year and Woman Handler of the Year when applicable. The awards will be presented to the youth (age 10 – 16) and woman who achieves the most points based on the above criteria.

Novice Dog of the Year, based upon the above point criteria, will automatically move to open and doubles divisions.
